You've heard about Community Solar - the new state sponsored money saving energy program - but there are a number of companies offering it and you're not sure who to go with. This is where I come in. I am an independent Community Solar Advisor and I will find the best possible program for your home and/or company. I have access to a number of different programs offered by different developers. Not all these programs work best for every situation. Let me do the homework for you and get you the best program.
• Some programs are offering a 10% discount off electric bills - others are offering 15% with more restrictions
• Some have strict qualifications, i.e. credit score minimums and/or personal guarantees - some do not have these qualification requirements for any except the biggest clients.
• Some require long term (5, 10, 20 years) commitments or a penalty to leave. Some have a 90-120 day opt out with no penalties to leave at any time.
These solar farms are being built now and the power allocations are being reserved. All solar farms are fully allocated to local businesses, residents and municipalities long before they are producing power. The expected time frame for these farms to begin producing power is from late winter this year to late spring
of next year.
Simply by signing up you will be saving money every month while showing your support for local jobs and protecting the environment. How great is that? Scroll down to contact us today with any questions you have or to get the simple sign up process started.
Something that sounds too good to be true can quickly turn people away so I wanted to clear up some misconceptions about Community Solar.
No. We build and maintain the panels on our nearby solar farm. You don’t have to build, install or hook up a thing.
Your allocated share of the solar farm earns you energy credits as it generates power. These credits are automatically applied towards your account and reduce what you owe to your utility. You’ll pay us at a 10-15% discount for these credits compared to what your utility would have charged you.
No. Your power will still be delivered to your home by the same company – we’ll just feed our energy into their grid. If there’s ever a problem or outage, you’ll get the exact same service from the exact same people.
I have plans with 1 bill and those with 2 bills. The 1 bill program discounts everything on one bill. For the 2 bill plan we’ll send you a monthly statement for your share of the farm, and you’ll keep getting your regular electric bill (minus your earned credits). You can sign up for automatic bill pay, which can help alleviate any extra work.
If you have an electric account with either CMP or Versant in Maine you are qualified. To begin the process we will ask you to email a full copy of your electric bill so we can see your usage and determine the size of your allocation.
You should start seeing credits on your utility bill 2-3 months after your project goes live. Developers are currently developing multiple solar farms across the state of Maine and by enrolling now, you are reserving your spot in one of these solar farms before they fill to capacity. We’ll keep you updated with project updates as we approach your project going live!
No catch. We believe in doing right by people and, well, the world.
